MOSCOW, Russia, December , 2006 - Top Systems, a leading provider of parametric design solutions, today announced Ufa Engine Industrial Association, Russia’s largest aircraft engine producer, has standardized on T-FLEX CAD software, Top Systems’ value-based 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) system. The Ufa Engine Industrial Association (the UMPO in Russian) produces aircraft engines, engines for tractors, gas pumping and power units, as well as cutlery and other products.
After an extensive evaluation of T-FLEX CAD and competitive products, UMPO licensed 98 seats of T-FLEX CAD for new production planning work including tool and fixture design, based on its ability to accelerate workflow via advanced parametric features. UMPO had already relied upon T-FLEX drafting software in its design process producing 2D drawings over the past several years. When UMPO decided to embrace the advantages of working in 3D in addition to its 2D environment, the company turned again to Top Systems and selected T-FLEX CAD software, which provided a natural upgrade path.
